Message from Club Secretary Tony Evans

Can I on behalf of the club update all on the current progress of the new clubhouse and grounds. This is an exciting time for all involved in the club and we look forward to opening the page on what will be a new chapter in the club’s history. I wanted to take the opportunity to acknowledge some key talking points and ensure that we as a club have transparency, so everyone is clear on the plans. Firstly, I know the current playing and training situation has not been ideal however and appreciate your cooperation and efforts at this time.

    We are now on the home straight and are looking at a move sometime in December to the new grounds.  The pitches will be marked very shortly and the posts have been delivered ready for installation. We are trying to arrange home playing facilities for November and December for the senior side in the meantime, we appreciate this is not a perfect solution, but hear and value the feedback from players and coaches that constant away games are a challenge. 

     The clubhouse itself will shortly be starting the final phase, indeed the changing facilities are very nearly ready. Whilst we have had some disappointing news regarding our lottery application, we do have contingency plans in place and we will continue to deliver a clubhouse that is fitting of our great rugby club. I can assure all that we are still on course to deliver a fantastic facility by year end.  The Social Club will operate as normal until we vacate prior to the move. 

       Can I thank all those who have helped to manage this change over the recent period either as a coach, manager, player or Club Member. The process of moving and modernising the club to be fit for a new chapter has not been an easy one and, whilst there is still plenty to do we can now see light at the end of the tunnel. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in the meantime and we will keep you all informed of further progress in due course.
