Bangor RFC 7-22 Rhyl and District RFC

The Dragons made the journey along the A55, hoping to continue with the form they showed at Welshpool , to take on Bangor RFC . With the constant fine rain it was impossible to see this being a game of impeccable handling and mistakes were made on both sides
Bangor took the early lead when the ball slipped from the grasp of a Rhyl player and Bangor went over the whitewash to claim the try that was duly converted. Rhyl responded by pushing Bangor back in to their 22 and kept them in there for most of the first half. Rhyl were finding it difficult to penetrate the defence put up by Bangor, but due to an indiscretion earning the Bangor player a yellow card, Rhyl’s Richie Williams converted the penalty.from the Kickoff Rhyl once again pushed to the Bangor posts which resulted in James Fisher-Jones going over the white wash and with Richie kicking the conversion Rhyl claimed a 10-7 lead at half time.
The second half continued with Rhyl holding the upper hand although it was a more open game . Flanker Cal Morris claimed two tries with One converted by Richie Williams giving the final score of 22-7 to Rhyl.
Credit is given to the Bangor defence for holding out in the first half otherwise the score would have been higher . Games between Rhyl and Bangor are always good hard games with both teams having wins over the opposition.
