The U14s squad from Rhyl and District RFC have come out as runners up in the Denbigh U14s Festival . Played over two days at Denbigh the side had an excellent first day where they beat Denbigh RFC 45-0, drew with Mold RFC 10-10 and beat Southport RFC 25-0 to finish the day.
On Sunday they met stronger opposition in the form of eventual Champions, Claremorris RFC from Ireland and lost 25-5. Rhyl went on to beat Monmouth RFC 45-0 and drew 5 all against Glossop RFC.
In the final of the festival Rhyl were again beaten by the strong Irish side 20-5. This is an excellent result for the Rhyl side. The lads deserve all the credit for their commitment and team spirit. The future looks promising for the club if this team continues together.
