1st team result and match Report

Menai Bridge 9 - 18 Rhyl and district.

Rhyl started much the stronger of the two sides. Early pressure told with Ben Syme kicking a penalty making it 3-0. Rhyl continued their good start with a well worked backs moved that saw speedy Jack Hughes cross in the bottom corner. Menai Bridge made their pressure tell with 2 penalties. Just before the half time whistle one of the 3 young youth boys, Tom 'DAJ' Jones crossed the line after a scrum won against the head making the score 13-6 half time.

Menai Bridge threw everything at the young Rhyl side for most of the second half yet the Rhyl defence stood strong. Menai Bridge only coming away with 3 points for all their hard work. Haydn 'Tombob' Taylor scored an excellent solo try from around 40m making the score 18 9.

The last ten mins saw Menai Bridge again hammering the Rhyl line. Special mentions to Joe Warhurst and Ethan 'big hits' Woodfine however I think everyone one will agree the Man of the Match was Harry Lowe. His excellent scrummaging and quite a few very direct runs with some of 10m.

Looking forward to future games. Lots to work on but lots of positives. Next week Denbigh at home then back to the social for a few beers and the Wales vs England game.
