Rhyl U11's v Didsbury Old Bedians U11's

Rhyl entertained touring side Didsbury Old Bedians in the last home game at the Waen. With several squad members unavailable, Rhyl played 11 a side. It was the visitors that started the stronger with the first try of the game. Rhyl reacted and used the width of the pitch to put in Alfie Brown to score Rhyl's first try. Didsbury's phyiscal runners broke the gain line and went on to score a further 2 tries within the first quarter of the half. Rhyl responded with some excellent running rugby with another score for Alfie. Next to score was Issac Feak who threw the perfect dummy leaving a clear run in to score. A further try for both teams, Alfie scoring his hatrick had the half time score at 28 - 28.

Didsbury started the the second half strongly with their big, physical players playting some direct running rugby leading to a couple of second half tries. Rhyl rallied and after a well worked backline move, Alfie was again on hand to score his 4th try of the game. A further try from Didsbury had the final score at Rhyl 35 Didsbury Old Bedians 49.

A very physical and competitive game from both teams with some excellent rugby on display. The young Rhyl team are looking forward to the return fixture when they are on tour on a couple of weeks. A sad day as it was the last U11's game at the Waen but very much looking forward to the exciting new future with the move to the town next season.
