Rhyl u7 v Nant Conwy u7

09.30, Sunday morning, Tynewydd Road and the surrounding area wake to the sound of the Rhyl U7’s Dragons roar.
Rhyl's 11 strong squad were an intimidating sight for a well drilled team from Nant Conwy.
Rhyl started strongly running in multiple tries, Cooper Jones took a knock during a brave and committed tackle, he was replaced by Rueben Hymus-Gant who immediately ran in a try. Alfie Calvert recovered well following a heavy impact in attack which resulted in his first rugby nose bleed. Anthony Williams was a strong force in defence, stopping many Nant attacks and George Allsopp was his usual determined self and always hungry for the ball. Rhyl had Oliver Griffith, a dangerous speedster on the wing, who was always looking to punish the opposition defence. Half-time saw the scores at 8 - 5 to Rhyl. As the game moved into the second half, Nant started to make a gradual come back with some strong running from their large and physical players, but Rhyl fought back with brave defence and attack from Jack Miles and Noah Partington. Rhys Felcrook was was his usual confident self and had the Nant defence in disarray with sniping runs, with Osian Rogers and Thomas Evans in close support to continue their elusive running. Man of the match this week was a hard choice to make as it really could have been any of the 11 players, but the coaches have chosen Alfie Calvert due to his work in offence and defence and also for coming back from an injury…Well done Alfie.
Final Score (and a fair one) 14 - 14. Report by Seth Pierce
