Rhyl Under 11's 21 Caernarfon 19

From the coaches point of view this has to be one of the most exciting matches to watch, with both teams putting in a fantastic performance and this game could have gone either way. From the first whistle Caernarfon started with early possesion and had a hard fought battle to break through a solid Rhyl defence. The first score for Caernarfon coming in the third minute with a break away try for the visitors. From the restart some great play in the mid field area with the ball being passed around, some great rucking by both teams, Rhyl kept the pressure on and found a hole in the Caernarfon defensive line in the 10th minute, with a well read interception by Henry Jacobsen carrying the ball across the line and opening up the score board for the home team, Henry then converted putting Rhyl in front. The game continued as it had started with some supurb tackling by Iestyn Bickerstaff and Edward Tonks. With a some very fast paced runs down the pitch from Elis Scourfield and powerful charges through heavy traffic from Osian Gittins. New team members Harvey Davies and Pheobe Cully added to the pace of the game with stong runs and great passing. Rhyls second score of the game came in the 16th minute, in a team effort to push the ball to the Caernarfon try line, finished off with a sprint to the corner by Harley Griffiths and the further increasing the score with the conversion. Some good work at the scrum, from Dewi speakman and scrum half Dafydd Mathias, put the ball down the line to Marley Campion and then to Harley Griffiths for Rhyls final try and conversion of the game. The second half started with more intensity than the first half, with both sides putting in maximum effort, Caernarfon rewarded for their efforts with a very well deserved converted try in the 28th minute. From the restart Rhyl continued to push hard and keep the pressure on, a small gap in the Rhyl defence allowed Caernarfon to capitalise, with their final score of the match. Even with tiring players, the intesity from both sides was maitained to the final whistle, this was a very well balanced game with great play from both teams and a pleasure to watch WELL DONE ALL
