Rhyls final game of 2016, was probably one of the best matches to watch to date. Both sides had a depleated teams, so the team played on a slightly smaller pitch and 7 a-side game. The first half opened with a Nant Conwy try and coversion, which seemed to wake the Rhyl side up with a great try from Osian Gittins running straight through a strong Nant Conway defence. Nant Conwy had the edge in the ruck, clearing out the Rhyl boys and retaining possesion, however the Rhyl boys were a lot quicker passing and line speed. Some, great battles in the mid field area with all the boys fighting hard to get possesion and retain possesion. Further trys from Iestyn Bickerstaff, Harley Griffiths, Henry Jacobson put Rhyl just in the lead at half time. The second half was much of the same, but Nant Conwy pulled Rhyl into the Ruck situation, retaining posession and edging the score in front of Rhyl. Some great support and effort from Dewi Speakman, Marley Campion and Edward Tonks, set the Rhyl side up for further trys. After a few failed attempts to clear the ball from the line, Harley Griffiths made a dummy run, from the try line, full length of the pitch to score. A great game for both teams and great effort by both teams, no man of the match for this game, as every player deserved it.
